About Me
Hello!
My name is Rebecca Peacock and I am a composer and teacher living in Leicester, UK. I have been playing the Piano (almost) my whole life! As a teenager I started playing Saxophone (I have always loved Jazz music!) I have written stories and lyrics for as long as I can remember and as I learnt more music and theory I started to compose/arrange for my friends and put all those lyrics to music!
I was fortunate to study Music at the University of Liverpool. Partly because of the amazing musical history the city has, and partly because I am a lifelong fan of the Liverpool F.C. football team! While I studied in Liverpool I composed mainly instrumental music for Classical style ensembles.
I am a huge fan of theatre, particularly musicals – Chicago and Kiss Me Kate are my absolute favourites! After watching a live production of Chicago, I realised I wanted to write my own musicals! A couple of years ago I went back to University to study writing for Musical Theatre at Goldsmiths, University of London. Since then I have written a few short musicals for young children to perform. And I am currently re-writing my first musical for an adult cast – called One More Time.
When I’m not composing, I’m often busy teaching at the Performing Arts School I founded in Leicester! Or, I can be found watching (and re-watching) sitcoms on Netflix, usually Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Community!

As a busy piano teacher I know how long it can take to prepare and find the perfect piece of music or relevant worksheet for your students. Well, let me take the hard work out of planning and cut down your admin hours! Take a look in the shop to find resources that will make your life easier!
Behind the Name
The name “Nocturne Notes” combines my love of Musical Theatre (the show: A Little Night Music by Sondheim) and my training in Classical Music (Eine kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart, as well as Chopin’s Nocturnes!) I also adored Astronomy when I was younger, so the name combines lots of my passions into one!
